A sophomore slump doesn’t seem to be a good bet as far as Vince Young is concerned. The Tennessee Titans’ outstanding quarterback showcased his skills during the first half of a 28-17 NFL preseason win over the host Buffalo Bills on Friday night.
The Titans beat the point spread, which had favored Buffalo by 1.5, and the betting total was over 35.
Young ran for one touchdown and hit tight end Bo Sciafe with a five-yard pass before the end of the second quarter. Young, the fleet and agile wunderkind, opened the scoring earlier in the quarter with a two-yard run.
Young was 13-for-19 passing for 162 yards while backup Kerry Collins was also strong. Collins was 6-for-7 passing for 72 yards and two touchdowns as the Titans pulled away in the second half.
